Garden Design Receives Three Silver Awards of Achievement

Winter Park, Fla. – Garden Design, the premier stylebook for exterior design and outdoor living, received the Garden Writers Association Silver Award of Achievement for writing, graphic design and overall product. This national award recognizes individuals and companies that achieve the highest levels of talent and professionalism in garden communications.

"We are honored to be recognized by our friends and colleagues in the Garden Writers Association, and are particularly appreciative of the award for our October-November 2007 issue," says Editor Sarah Kinbar. "That issue showcased gorgeous gardens from the winners of the American Society of Landscape Architects' annual awards competition, and featured projects, photography and stories that set the bar for quality in our field."

Bonnier Corporation received the Silver Award of Achievement in the category of Overall Product for the October-November 2007 issue of Garden Design magazine. Eric Powell received an award for his graphic design in the feature "Bay Watch." Joanna Fortnam received an award for her magazine article titled "Into the Light."

"The Garden Writers Association Media Awards showcase the communicators, photographers, illustrators, publishers and graphic designers that have pursued excellence in gardening communication," says Anne Marie Van Nest, president of GWA. "The Media Award winners have been judged by industry experts and show significant distinction and merits that exemplify exceptional work."

Since the early 1980s, the GWA Media Awards program has recognized outstanding writing, photography, graphic design and illustration for books, newspaper stories, magazine articles and other works focused on gardening.
