Garden Design Promotes Sarah Kinbar to Editor

Winter Park, Fla. – Garden Design, the premier stylebook for exterior design and outdoor living, announces the promotion of Sarah Kinbar to editor. In addition to Kinbar's promotion, Garden Design is rolling out a new look in its September issue, designed to engage its readers more directly and effectively.

"As Garden Design continues to evolve and solidify its position as the leading voice of the exterior design movement, Sarah Kinbar is the perfect person to lead the editorial package to the next level," said Carole-Ann Hayes, vice president of publishing for Bonnier Corp.'s Lifestyle and Travel titles. "With her history at Garden Design, Sarah brings a strong understanding of our brand along with deep roots in the design community. More importantly, she has a spot-on sensibility for the issues, trends and fashions that consumers relate to."

Kinbar began her career at Garden Design as assistant editor in 2002, then became associate editor in 2003. She briefly left in 2005 for an opportunity at Cottage Living as associate garden editor, and then returned to Garden Design in 2006 to become marketing manager. Kinbar rejoined Garden Design's editorial team in 2007 as senior editor.

"Garden Design is produced by a small, tight-knit team of passionate people, and I am proud to be a part of it. This year and next, we are connecting with readers where they live: in their outdoor rooms," says Kinbar. "Our pages reveal the most enchanting, chic spaces that exist in gardens here in the United States and around the world."

Along with brand director John Miller and creative director David Weaver, Kinbar will manage the magazine's redesign, which includes the presentation of new columns: Garden Gourmet, featuring the latest and greatest in outdoor kitchens, and Swatch Watch, complete coverage of new weather-safe fabrics.

Garden Design is published eight times a year by Bonnier Corp.
